Ironbridge Gorge Museum

The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are a collection of 10 museums located in Ironbridge Gorge, near Telford. Indoor and outdoor museums make it a great day out for people of all ages.

The perfect introduction to the valley and its attractions which includes a 40ft scale model of the town (as it was in 1796). The museum is a hands-on experience which includes the latest interactive technology to discover the environmental effects on the Gorge from the years of industry.

Ten award-winning museums spread along the valley beside the River Severn which is still spanned by the world’s first Iron Bridge. In 1986, the Ironbridge Gorge became one of the first UK sites to be awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. This recognised the area’s unique contribution to the birth of the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, and the impact it made across the world.
